We are the Rotary Club of Copán Ruinas, club No. 65655 of Rotary International District 4250. Since 2004, we have worked with communities of Copán in western Honduras, with partners on three continents. Our motto: "Service Above Self".

Background

What is Rotary?

Rotary International is a service organization made up of local clubs of volunteers. Each club identifies what its community needs and gets to work; the international network provides funding, knowledge, and partners for what a single club couldn't do alone.

“Service Above Self”

The motto of Rotary International.

The club

Copán Ruinas, District 4250

The Rotary Club of Copán Ruinas is part of Rotary International's District 4250, which includes clubs in Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize. Our club number is 65655.

We work in western Honduras, a region where the distance between the town center and the rural communities is measured in hours, not kilometers. That distance shapes most of what we do.

This site belongs to the Rotary Club of Copán Ruinas, club No. 65655, based in Copán Ruinas, Copán, Honduras. The projects, partnerships, and information here reflect the work of this club. Other Rotary clubs also serve the department of Copán, each with their own proud history.

Partnerships

Who we work with

What makes the club's work possible isn't its size — it's the partnerships.

  • Honduran counterpart

    International Project Alliance (IPA)

The IPA is a coalition of Rotary clubs from the Pacific Northwest of the United States with a long-term commitment to the Copán Ruinas region. The Rotary Club of Copán Ruinas is its on-the-ground partner in Honduras.

Together, we serve 38 communities of Copán across six work fronts: education, health, food and agriculture, water and sanitation, construction, and economic development.

Track record

Copán Ruinas has hosted the District before

2019

Copán Ruinas hosted the XXIV District 4250 Conference. The town and the club organized an event of that scale — the logistics, accommodations, and coordination it requires.

That's the practical reason Copán Ruinas is ready to host the LVII Jornada Morazánica in September 2027, on dates now confirmed by the organizing committee.

This isn't a formal application — it's the first step to getting to know each other. A club member replies to you personally.

That's where we'll reply.

A club works better with different trades in it. Leave it blank if you'd rather not say.

It doesn't have to be long — a sentence is plenty.
